Places to Stay:
Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or an extended stay, these are a few of our favorite places to rest after a day on the water. Each offers its own unique Bellingham experience, from historic downtown charm to cozy neighborhood stays.
Hotel Leo – A beautifully restored historic hotel in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of restaurants, breweries, and the waterfront.
Galby Getaways – Our favorite vacation rental option for guests looking to settle in and experience Bellingham like a local. Located at the base of Galbraith Mountain, it’s perfect for folks looking to get out and mountain bike or trail run during their time in Bellingham.
Heliotrope Hotel – A stylish boutique motel with a modern Pacific Northwest feel, conveniently located near downtown and local favorites.
Fairhaven Village Inn – Nestled in the heart of Historic Fairhaven, this charming waterfront hotel is steps from cafés, shops, and the South Bay Trail.
Best Eats
Bellingham has an incredible food scene. We had a hard time narrowing it down so here are many of our faves-
Taylor Shellfish- Located just down the road from Larrabee State Park, Taylor Shellfish offers a classic PNW experience with fresh oysters and local seafood right on the waters edge. Perfet for happy hour!
Banter Hospitality - Our favorite brunch spot!
Iron Rooster Bakery- Incredible pastries and croissants but only open fridays- sundays!
Storia Cucina- Fresh pasta!
Bellingam Cider Co- Maybe the best dinnerview in town? Grab a spot on the patio to look over the Bellingham Bay.
Aslan Brewing- All ages providing local orgnaic food. Great burgers, sandwiches and more.
Black Sheep - Eleveated tacos and fun cocktails!
Things to do:
Things we actually tell our friends to do when they visit-
Visit the Farmers Market- Every saturday from 10-2pm is the Bellingham farmers market! Wander the rows of produce stands and pick up a treat for your next adventure. It’s a great way to get a feel for Bellingham
Drive to Artist Point- When we’re not on the water, we spend a lot of time in the mountains and in our humble opinon, Mt.Baker and the north cascades are some of the most beautiful! Take the scenic drive up hwy 542 to Mt. Baker and go for a hike, or short walk to take in the mountain views!
Dig Deep Tours- One of the most popular things to do in Bellingham is mountain bike! Local guiding company Dig Deep Tours is a great option for both first-time riders and experienced mountain bikers looking to explore our world-class trail systems. Their knowledgeable guides will show you the best trails around town and help you experience Bellingham’s legendary mountain bike scene.
Hang at Trackside- Bellingham’s waterfront is constantly evolving, and one of our favorite recent additions is the Portal Container Village at Trackside. It’s the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring, with a rotating lineup of food trucks, local drinks, and outdoor seating where you can soak up the sunshine
